Abstract
In this thesis, we study the novel properties of the superconducting phases of twodimensional transition metal dichalcogenides and of Nb doped topological insulator Bi2Se3. In particular, we focus on the magnetic properties of these superconducting materials. Due to the special spin-orbit coupling in two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides, the in-plane upper critical fields are greatly enhanced. The unconventional superconductivity in Nb-doped Bi2Se3 makes it possible that nonzero magnetization can be induced by chiral Cooper pairs.
