Computational physics studies and solves physics problems using computational and numerical methods. Historically, computational physics was the first application of modern computers in science. This field has been developed quickly with the help of some of the most powerful supercomputers in the world and the state-of-the-art theoretical methods and computer algorithms. It has grown to be a third way of doing physics and complements traditional modes of theoretical and experimental physics.
